John Michael (they/them/John) is a 4.0 graduate of Montgomery Community College’s Licensed Massage Therapy Program and a Level 1 Usui Reiki Practitioner. While John is new to the field, they are not new to the practice. “I’ve been performing body and energetic work since I was 4. It’s some of my earliest memories.”

 

John spent a decade as a filmmaker, co-founding a video production company with a friend and creative partner, and 20 years as a Retail Manager before returning to their roots as a healer. “I spent my young adult life sacrificing my body for my jobs. It took years to undo that damage. Everyone deserves a pain-free existence.”

 

However, what drives John most is the belief that the human body is sacred. “I consider Massage Therapy stewardship. It’s a physiological, evidence-based practice but it’s also an energetic, divine experience. The body is truly a temple for our consciousness and tending to it is my honor.”

 

In the session space John employs a number of modalities, from Myofascial Release to Thai Stretching, Cupping and Hot Stones, Trigger Point and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. “I love learning and adding new tools to my belt. I am excited for a lifetime of continuing education!”

 

When not in Kennett Square, John is back home in South Philly, making art, candles, colognes and perfumes, body butters and beard balms, building their private practice, and spending quality time with their family.
